Meet NellaJ

Meet Nella J, highly versatile House of Flamz Productions & X-Klusiv Soundz Music female recording artiste, song writer and creative. “I’ve had a love for music from a child, would often listen to songs and rewrite them as a high-schooler. I appreciate all types of music and don't have any particular inspirations, I am inspired toward all genres and any artiste who produces good music.”

Nella or Jo Jo as she prefers to be called, was propelled toward music and writing by the occurrence of a life event, one she chose to use as a stepping stone, rather than embrace as misfortune or an incident of destruction.

"My goal is basically to put out music which people can enjoy and relate to, not being hinged to only one genre.” JoJo’s exquisite and thought-provoking play on words in her first single demonstrates her unique creative ability, which causes her listeners to both think and interpret as they will her lyrics, after all, creativity is what the arts are all about!

In her debut track, ‘What’s the fee,’ she sings about the inability of her friends to travel to St. Lucia to be with her during the Carnival season. While saddened by this reality, she’s inspired to take the opportunity to invite others around the world to come experience a truly St. Lucian Carnival.

“This song has a different inspiration in every verse. In the first few lines, I speak of the ‘side chick on the side line.’ Since most times for carnival persons would sing about whining on somebody’s man or woman, I decided to put something in for the wifeys in my song. In the chorus, I’m saying I want to be free this carnival, to be able to jump in every band without any restrictions of belonging to a specific band, bound by costumes and sections.

I want to run loose and free, so how much would I be charged to fete in my panty? That way I won't belong to any band in particular, so I could fete in every band, in any section, just charge me a fee to do so! I'm asking what is the fee to do so.”

The grand launching of H.O.F. artiste NellaJ right before St. Lucia Carnival 2018 is by all means an event to anticipate! She rolls out her creative track in which she fuses tourism with the arts, beckoning to people from around the globe the come down to St. Lucia Carnival and be free, leaving behind their stresses and joining her in her mission to be liberated!!!

STAY tuned for the full-throttle launch of NellaJ, with House of Flamz Productions & X-Klusiv Sounds Music (H.O.F.). Follow our pages for updates, event dates and venues.

Alternative Artiste Glen Miller

Glenroy Miller, who goes by artistic name Glen Miller is a singer and song writer who hails from the island of Jamaica, currently residing in St. Lucia. He began expressing his love for music at a tender age, when he would ‘make music,’ beating Milo tins and singing, a naturally inspired performance he often delivered to his household. His musical showmanship attracted the attention of his aunt who was a respected music teacher at a prominent primary school in Jamaica. She soon became the main driving force behind his musical growth, playing an integral part in harnessing his musical talent.

Glen has worked with musical arrangers and producers such as Francis Leebo De Lima, Major Cash 360, Mariah St. Louis, Barbera Cadette, Boo Hinkson and Horrace Darryl. Prior to the commencement of the compilation of his album ‘Released In Time,’ he recalls himself in his early years singing with the choir and playing in the band at his primary school at the nation’s Music Festival/Competition in Jamaica, where he was awarded a bronze medal and on a parish level, gold. Despite his achievement, he was discouraged from a musical career by a father who never deemed it a lucrative profession for him to pursue.

Glen first made his debut at the NG Soca Stage, the first Groovy Soca competition hosted in St. Lucia where he performed and proceeded into the finals. Since then, he has dedicated his time toward his album creation and establishing himself both on a musical and personal level. He does not stick with one genre, as he confesses to being a ‘radio-head,’ a title he unabashedly claims, due to his passion for dabbling in all categories of music. It’s no surprise his earlier years of musical appreciation propelled him toward becoming a sound system owner, operator and disk jockey.

Glen was also fortunate to receive motivation and encouragement toward a musical career by his brother, who prior to his entry, was a veteran DJ.

Music is not the only thing Glen enjoys; he appreciates a good game of soccer on the neighbourhood field with his comrades and likewise enjoys attending to a ‘good fete’, having ‘good grub’ and also ‘winding down’ by hosting friends at home.

Among his inspirations are New Edition, Michael Jackson, Prince, George Michael, Beres Hammond, Jah Cure, Kronix, Junior Gong Marley and his father Bob Marley. He also esteems Tracey Chapman, LL Cool J, DMX and other old-school 80’s-era artistes such as A Tribe Called Quest, ODB, Busta Rhymes, Nate Dog, Snoop Dog and new-school artiste Ed Sheeran.
